A Journey of Commitment and Growth
Welcome home, Sharrelle—a mother of four boys who has finally achieved the dream of homeownership after years of hard work.
As an executive administrator at Housing Solutions, Sharrelle helps others find stable housing every day. But her own journey wasn’t easy. When she first applied to Green Country Habitat for Humanity nearly two years ago, she didn’t qualify. Her credit and debt-to-income ratio needed work, and life brought additional challenges, including a divorce and an unstable rental situation.
Still, Sharrelle stayed committed.
“No matter what, I wanted a home,” she says.
When she reapplied, everything had changed. Her finances were stronger, her credit was where it needed to be, and the timing couldn’t have been better.
“We were able to hit the ground running.”
Through the program, Sharrelle gained the skills and confidence that come with homeownership—learning everything from maintenance to budgeting.
“When you’re renting, you call the landlord. Now, it’s on you.”
Her four boys have been part of the journey every step of the way—watching her put in sweat equity hours and counting down alongside her.
“They’re always asking, ‘Mommy, when can we go to your house?’”
For Sharrelle, this home is about more than stability. “This is legacy building,” she says. “It’s something I can pass down to my sons.”
Now, that future is within reach—a place to gather, grow, and call their own.
Congratulations on your new home, Sharrelle, and special thanks to MapleMark Bank for providing an affordable mortgage.

This Earth Day, we’re inviting you to make a real impact for the planet and our community. Donate your gently used items in celebration of Earth Day to any of our four area ReStores. As a thank you, anyone who donates on Earth Day through Saturday, April 25, will receive a free plant, courtesy of Southwood Landscape and Garden Center while supplies last.
We’re also proud to partner with A New Leaf, OSU Master Gardeners, and local artists at ReStore Tulsa this year.

Friday, April 24: OSU Master Gardeners "Ask a Master Gardener" booth
Saturday, April 25: Local artist workshops and demos
What impact do your donations make?
By donating to our ReStores, you’re reducing landfill waste, giving your items a second life, and helping to fund the construction of more affordable housing across the Tulsa-area. Just last year, our ReStores diverted nearly 3,000,000 pounds of items from local landfills, and sales from these items helped build more than 40 new Habitat homes.
Mark your calendars and join us as we celebrate Earth Day.
The need for affordable housing in Tulsa continues to be a challenge, but you can make a real difference by becoming a Foundation Builder. Through this program, your recurring monthly gift becomes a steady source of funding that helps us better plan, execute, and build affordable Habitat homes for hardworking families. Whether you can give $10 a month or $100, every gift has an impact.
Thank You! Your support is appreciated for our ability to build affordable homes, acquire land, develop infrastructure, and provide education with assistance to our future homeowners. GreenCountryHabitat.org • 6235 E. 13th St. Tulsa, OK 74112 • (918) 592-4224
