Dominique's Road to Homeownership
Welcome home, Dominique! A lifelong Tulsa resident, Dominique has been working in transit as a driver since 2020. After living in apartments since she was 17, she began searching for a home of her own—but quickly found that many homes on the market were far outside her budget.
“It was really discouraging,” she says. “I started thinking I may not be able to do this.”
Then Dominique remembered volunteering with Habitat for Humanity years earlier with her mom. She decided to revisit the program—and discovered a path to homeownership.
Through Habitat’s Homebuyer Program, Dominique was able to turn her dream into reality.
“I really appreciate Habitat for Humanity,” she says. “They showed me how this program could benefit me—and now here I am.”
Now, Dominique is moving into a brand-new Habitat home. She’s already imagining how she’ll decorate it with calming colors after long workdays and looks forward to hosting family gatherings.
“I’m very family oriented,” she says. “I’m excited to have everyone over.”
For future Habitat homeowners, Dominique offers simple advice: “Stay committed, take the advice given in the classes, and it will all be worth it in the end.”
Congratulations Dominque on purchasing your Habitat home and thank you to MidFirst Bank for providing an affordable mortgage.
