Welcome Home, Brittany!

A Teacher and Mother of Four Finds Stability Through Homeownership

Meet Habitat’s new homeowner, Brittany—a first-grade dual-language teacher at Celia Clinton Elementary and mother of four who has transitioned from life in a shelter to a home of her own.

As a teacher, Brittany is laying the groundwork to give her students a unique advantage through her school’s Spanish dual-language program. Outside the classroom, she embraces the challenges of raising her four children, ages 4, 6, 8, and 11. Balancing work and parenting is never easy, but with a safe and steady home, the load becomes lighter.

After completing Green Country Habitat for Humanity’s homebuyer program, Brittany and her children are now proud to have a place to call home. One of her favorite features is the spacious kitchen and pantry, perfect for family meals and her love of cooking and baking.

With the dream of homeownership now realized, Brittany has the peace of mind that allows her to keep focusing on what is important to her, supporting her children and her students. She encourages future applicants to stay persistent and open to learning when going through the homeownership program:

“Come ready for all the knowledge that’s going to come with it. Make sure to take notes in every class.”

Brittany’s story wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Green Country Habitat for Humanity's donors, sponsors, and volunteers. A special thank-you goes to American Bank of Oklahoma for providing an affordable mortgage that helped make this dream a reality.

Women-led Teams Raising Walls on 918 Day

On September 18 at 8:30 A.M., women-led sponsor teams will gather in North Tulsa to raise the walls on four new Habitat homes as part of our annual Women Build. This exciting build day aligns with Tulsa’s 918 Day, making it the perfect way to honor our city while tackling the affordable housing crisis head-on.

Women Build highlights the power of women leading change, breaking down barriers to homeownership and creating brighter futures for Tulsa families.

One of Our Biggest Deconstructions Yet

Did you hear about this? Green Country Habitat’s Deconstruction team recently removed several high-quality and luxury items from a mansion in Bixby. Typically, these kinds of services cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, but are offered at no charge from Green Country Habitat. What’s even better is that these tax-deductible donations are sold at our ReStores, bringing in more money to support our mission.

Do you have a renovation project coming up? Contact our Deconstruction Services team today online or at 918-359-5555!

Back to School, Back to ReStore

With the kids back in school, it’s the perfect time to get your home back in order and make a difference while you do it. When you donate gently used furniture, appliances, and home goods to Green Country Habitat ReStores, your items don’t just find a second life—they help fund our mission of building safe, affordable homes for families right here in Green Country.

Thank You! Your support is appreciated for our ability to build affordable homes, acquire land, develop infrastructure, and provide education with assistance to our future homeowners.
